Montauban – Brigitte Barèges impose un festival unique

Brigitte Barèges a décidé de ne plus subventionner qu’un seul festival en 2015. Les festivals Alors…Chante !, DanseS en places ou le Festival de jazz n’existeront plus dès la saison prochaine.

Il s’agit là d’une décision politique arbitraire, imposée sans concertation ni dialogue aux responsables, bénévoles, Montalbanais et festivaliers. A aucun moment elle n’a été évoquée, ni en conseil municipal, ni en commission culture. Elle ne figurait pas dans le programme municipal de Mme Barèges.

La municipalisation d’un seul et unique festival aura des conséquences désastreuses. Elle signifie de fait la fin de l’indépendance de la programmation, l’arrêt des relations étroites tissées par chacun depuis des années, la fin de positionnements reconnus dans le paysage culturel, l’abandon de tout projet culturel cohérent avec le territoire, d’aide à la création, de découverte de talents. Ce futur grand festival sera un « fourre-tout », avec du jazz, de la chanson francophone, des spectacles pour enfants, de l’humour… L’unique ambition qui se dessine semble être d’intégrer cet événement dans une stratégie de communication globale de la ville, en concentrant les moyens sur des têtes d’affiches et un public extérieur.

L’argument budgétaire sert de prétexte à Mme Barèges pour rogner sur les crédits de la culture de Montauban, ville d’Art et d’Histoire, et satisfaire une vision personnelle déconnectée de toute réalité locale ou nationale.

Une pétition sera lancée dans les prochains jours, nous appelons les Montalbanais à la signer et la diffuser.
