Avec plus de 80% de suffrages en faveur de la création d’un Etat Catalan indépendant, la consultation est un plébiscite qui ne peut et ne doit​ rester lettre morte.

Les aspirations à la liberté du peuple catalan auront donc été plus fortes que toutes les peurs et les interdits dressés par le Gouvernement conservateur de Manuel Rajoy.

Malgré les menaces et les pressions exercées par Madrid​, ce sont en effet plus de deux millions de citoyens catalans qui se sont rendus aux urnes pour la création d’un Etat catalan​, soit autant qu’aux dernières élections européennes ! 
 
La tenue de la consultation et la forte mobilisation représentent une victoire de la démocratie sur l’autorité sourde​ et aveugle, ​du progrès sur le conservatisme, ​et démontrent que ​le peuple catalan ​est plus que jamais​ déterminé à prendre son avenir en main !​

Le Parlement actuel de Catalogne composé déjà majoritairement d’indépendantistes devrait prochainement annoncer la tenue d’élections anticipées afin de former une Assemblée Nationale Constituante. Elle aura pour tâche de jeter les bases du futur Etat Catalan, membre de l’Union Européenne.

Au nom de la démocratie, le Partit Occitan soutient le principe du droit des Peuples à disposer d’eux-mêmes et défend la création d’une Europe des Régions et des Peuples Solidaires.

Le Partit Occitan en appelle désormais aux instances européennes pour veiller à ce que le processus démocratique entamé soit respecté. Aucune entrave ne doit venir perturber ceux qui choisissent le chemin de la Liberté.
