Le Partit Occitan salue l’initiative de Gérard Onesta, vice-président de la région Midi-Pyrénées, membre du groupe Europe Ecologie Les Verts aux côtés de Guilhèm Latrubesse (Partit Occitan), grâce à qui l’occitan est désormais langue officielle de l’Eurorégion Pyrénées-Méditerranée.

Les nouveaux statuts de ce GECT (Groupement Européen de Coopération Territoriale) qui rassemble les régions Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, Catalogne et Baléares, officialisent désormais quatre langues officielles : le français, le castillan, le catalan et l’occitan.
